The catechism of the catholic church asserts, “catechesis is intimately bound up with the whole of the church’s life….her/his inner growth and correspondence with God’s plan depend essentially on catechesis’. (citing John Paul II). There is a profound dignity to this ministry of teaching in the name of the church; no other ministry compares to it.
Religious Education News - The Religious Education program has concluded this past May 22 with about 250 children enrolled in grades 1-8. Thirty-eight children from the parish received their First Holy Communion and forty-two young men and women have received the Sacrament of Confirmation. To all the catechists of these children we extend our gratitude for their generous service of teaching God’s Word to the young of our parish. Their generosity made it possible for the parish to have a religious education program. So that the parish religious education program can continue next year at St. Vincent, we are in need of more volunteers to serve as catechists and aides.
